Episode 14 - Erin Connolly
Here we are, episode 14 of the podcast and I finally get to talk, at great length, about reading! When I did a short lived podcast a few years back (albeit with same theme music) called The Starting Point, I recorded a book-related episode with Kyle Dupont. It's still available on this page.
Erin Connolly and I have known each other quite a while under odd circumstances. I used to work in a call center in Fredericton, New Brunswick. One summer, they transferred me to Bathurst in the northern part of the province as a supervisor. She was one of the employees I met. Later, we bumped into one another at St. Thomas University from time to time even being in the same class (Science Fiction Literature) in our third year. A few years later, only being casual friends on Facebook (meaning we didn't interact but may have glanced at one another's status occasionally) I ended up getting a job in Beijing. She just so happened to be employed at the same school. We both love books and talking about them, so here we are. It was destiny.
One note about the recording: we recorded it in the greenhouse on our apartment complex's grounds. Inside, there is a waterfall/pond and you may hear it throughout the recording in addition to the occasional onslaught of fireworks.
Other than those couple glitches, it's a fun listen for book lovers and anyone who likes good conversation!
